Location is everything and Ireland has it all. Home to the most beautiful backdrops for the most extravagant proposals.....and for a great engagement picture, of course!
1: King John's Castle, Carlingford Lough, Co. Louth.
King John's Castle, without doubt, one of the most unique attractions in Ireland, seamlessly blending past and present. The mountains, the sea, and the historical monumental scenery are unspoiled, its medieval origins still very much apparent to the flow of visitors that drop in on the dreamy east coast village. Carlingford is mysterious, enigmatic, intriguing yet quietly spectacular - all the traits required for your perfect marriage proposal.
Tip: An obvious one, but there’s a reason why it’s so popular. Propose as the sunsets, this is stunning and romantic, basking in oranges, pinks, and blues during a proposal is one sure way to be sure your partner never forgets it.
2: Croagh Patrick, Co. Mayo.
Take your love to the top. Plan a romantic hike to the stunning mountain top of Croagh Patrick, close to Westport, Co. Mayo. Overlooking an incredible view of Clew Bay the challenge is definitely worth it. Your partner is sure to be blown away by nature’s beauty at this romantic spot, and presenting an engagement ring in serene and calm surroundings like this will be the envy of all. One of our favourite ideas is finding a private and peaceful spot that will leave you both alone for the most perfect and intimate proposal.
Tip: After you've climbed back down, exhilarated and full of excitement, it's time to sip on bubbly in the lively town of Westport where you can also enjoy delicious bar food and brilliant live music in local pubs.
3: Giants Causeway, Co. Antrim.
Ireland's most mysteriously beautiful patches of coastline. Let your imagination run wild as you step along the stunning and spectacular rock formations. Sunset in spring and autumn is the best time for photographs. Celebrate your love and discover why it is called the fourth natural wonder of the world on bended knee at the Giants Causeway.
Tip: Take a moment to take in the fairy-tale scenery, have a seat on one of the rock formations, and breath.
3: St Stephens Green, Co. Dublin.
Located in the heart of the city where couples can enjoy a romantic picnic for two or a horse drawn carriage... this beautiful park has it all. Only a stone's throw from a garden bursting with colour - dedicated to Irish poet W.B.Yeats, and flowers of all shapes, sizes, and colours.
Tip: Spring and Summertime is perfect if you choose to retreat to Dublin city with your special someone for February 14th.
5: Phoenix Park, Co. Dublin.
The capital's little hidden gem allows you to escape from the hustle and bustle of Dublin's busy streets and venture into the wilderness. With Phoenix Park boasting it's very own zoo, home to over 600 species from all around the world you will not be short of Kodak moments.
Tip: Make this an extra special trip to the zoo, allow us to go behind the scenes and create that perfect proposal.
